Revelation

I always thought that I would prefer to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast, but I had a revelation tonight.  Jasmine from Aladdin would be my pick.  She's already a princess, doesn't have to wear huge dresses and mostly...she has a pet tiger!  DUH.  Oh, and she gets a man who wears MC Hammer Pants.  Hott.

Sub for Santa

Our ward passed out a sign up sheet for Sub for Santa a couple weeks ago.  I signed up and did my shopping.  Lisa saw me bringing home some random stuff and wanted to know what it was for.  She got all jealous and wanted to help out too and basically bought out Costco with stuff for a needy family on the list.  Then the kids wanted to get in on it too and bought toys with their own money to donate to the cause.  They are for sure making some children very happy this Christmas!

Home Owners

Kyra and I went to Petaluma for a weekend so that we could help Susannah and Kevin move into their new house!
Susannah's cat, Missy, attacked me and ran away when I tried to get her into the car to go to the new house.

We were tired after all that cleaning and moving!
Kyra and I celebrated by getting an avalanche apple!
Peyton thought it was fun to ride Montana's cat cage...
Peyton loves chocolate almost as much as we do!

 Three of my cute nieces!
Kevin's cat, Montana, the fattest cat I've seen!

Apparently I didn't take any pictures of the new house...

A Visit From Sherstin

SO...I forced Sherstin to come out and visit me for a weekend.  It was very short, but well worth it.  She flew in Friday night and flew out Sunday evening.  We actually didn't really do anything and didn't even really take pictures at all!  Mostly because we literally just hung out, talked and relaxed!  It was lovely!  We spent half of our time in Morgan Hill and the other half in Petaluma so that Shestin could see where I am now and where I grew up.
We stopped by Susannah's place so that Sherstin could meet Peyton...
Peyton did not disappoint and Sherstin said that she understands now when I talk about how freaking cute Peyton is!
I showed Sherstin the creek I played in growing up, there was a lot more water in it from the last time I checked.

I freaked out because dad randomly paved the driveway...I wanted him to do that all my life and he suddenly did it on a whim!
 My beautiful green Petaluma!

We even made it out to my Elementary school and I showed her where I am immortalized on the wall of the school :)

I had a great time and look forward to seeing her next month when she becomes Mrs. Sherstin Sutherland!

Christmas Tree Farm

I grew up with a Christmas Tree farm up the road from me.  So, when I was home for Thanksgiving and Jennifer said we should take a walk up there, I was all for it!  It was really pretty and they even had some animals out.  You can't really tell, but that is like the goliath of all goats...we were pretty scared.  The pig was huge too...I've never seen one that big in person, but I'm sure there are much larger!  Oh, and Asia was there for a day and then came back with me because Nikki is going to be there for most of December, so we thought it best that she hang out in Morgan Hill a bit longer.

Cougars!

BYU played at San Jose State in November, so I got tickets and made Kyra come with me to her first college football game!  Poor kid had no idea what was going on and thought that we would get beat up since we were cheering for the other team.  We did not play well and lost, but it was fun to feel all team spirited again!

Temple Trip

We were finally able to get Kyra her recommend to go inside the temple to do baptisms for the dead!  We went to the temple the next Saturday with her cousin and grandma.  We did some family names.  I even did them as well...it was weird doing that again since I haven't done it in a while.  We were at the Oakland temple, which is where I grew up doing temple trips.  The baptistry has changed so much...apparently they had just remodeled it.  We went on a really busy day because they had youth conferences there, but it was a great experience.  Kyra got to go again the next week with her young women group...I was told that she looked like a pro!

My Halloween Costume

I had the best Halloween costume this year!  I dressed up as Lisa!  It was pretty entertaining because I don't think she thought I would actually do it, but I showed up at the Smiths that night.  Fully decked out.  Clothes, makeup, perfume, bra, everything.  It was even weirding Austin out that he kept on thinking I was his mom.  Oh and it was really comfortable too!

Measure G

So, I was able to help out with a local measure to get passed called Measure G.  It was a bond to get money for the schools and we won!  It was a lot of hard work, but it paid off!  I mostly helped out putting together the phone bank.  I volunteered poor Lisa for just about anything that came up...she was a good sport!  At any rate, we are all much happier with that being over with!

Lost and Found

So, I have this necklace that I've had since I was in Junior High.  My best friend, Johanna, gave it to me after one of her family trips.  I still wear it all the time and it means a lot to me.  A little while ago I realized that the charm was missing and I only had the chain on. I've had this necklace for more than half of my life, so I was really disappointed, but glad that I at least still had the chain.  I said a small prayer asking that I would find the charm, but didn't feel impressed to do anything or even look in the first place.  Who knows where on earth I could have lost it in how many different areas... I didn't even know how long I had been missing it for.  Well, a week or two goes by and I was vacuuming the game room. It was my second time around when I realized I was pushing something around on the floor that just wouldn't be sucked up, no matter what I was doing.  So I reached down and picked it up...it was my charm!  I couldn't believe it!  I mean, look at how small it is!  Then when I was cleaning the bathroom, I looked down and saw the little circular thing that attaches it to the chain!  Are you kidding me?!  There is no denying that God answers prayers...even ones so trivial as finding a necklace charm.

Sharp Shooters

So, my dad has this pellet gun that he uses to scare away the squirrels from his walnut tree.  In September we had a little fun shooting at some cans in the back yard...check out these sharp shooters!

Carmel

Ok, so I have MIA, but life just got a little less crazy, so I thought that I would blog a little bit.

Jennifer texted me one Friday and told Lisa and I to come meet her and Chris down in Carmel for the day.  It is about an hour long drive for us and we jumped at the opportunity.

It was a beautiful day and we walked down to the beach, did some shopping, but mostly we sat at a pub and  ate and chatted.  It was fun to just hang out, yay for being spontaneous!

Oh, and I bought a purse...Lisa and Jenn informed me that I needed this one, especially since it was such a great deal!  My favorite response was from Sherstin:

New Office

Life has been kinda crazy lately!  I've pretty much been working three part time jobs, but all for the school district.  Well, I guess one of them can't be considered the school district.
I'm still doing the part time ROP job for the high schools, but then they asked me to sub as the assistant to the new director of technology and enrollment part time in the mornings until the hire someone (hopefully me!) and therefore have me doing both jobs at the district office now
Plus I was asked to be the campaign manager for Measure G...a bond Morgan Hill is voting for in November to get more money for the schools.  Poor Lisa...I've got her all wrapped into volunteering for it!  Plus, I am the YSA rep in my ward...which I am the only YSA in the ward on the list...and they asked me to help with the trunk or treat this year!  All this work is cramping my pool time!  ;)  So grateful to have a job(s) though!!!

Walk to Cure

Sunday was the Diabetes Walk to Cure... so we were at Great America nice and early!
It was nice and smart that they just did a walk around the park and then fed us and left us to go play at Great America the rest of the day!
 The three Diabetics plus Austin.
Thanks to anyone who donated money to the cause!

Some of the swag we picked up for Jenn
Jenn feels pretty left out that she isn't diabetic and they were giving away free blood testers, so we got her another one and decorated it for her!
And we each got a tattoo!
And then off to spend the rest of the day on the rides!
We left and then I came back with the kids for Halloween Haunt, which was pretty fun....
The kids were great and weren't too scared at all!
