One Day in My Shoes

I think this is awesome and would love it if anyone would like to participate.  If you do participate, please let me know how it went for you...

Be T1D for a Day

undefinedThroughout November, we're asking people to better appreciate what people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) experience every day, every hour by taking part in a unique mobile-based challenge: T1D for a Day.
When you sign up for the T1D for a Day text challenge, you agree to receive as many as 24 text messages over a 24-hour period that simulate the constant blood sugar testing, insulin injections, and dietary decisions that confront people with T1D.
While no virtual campaign can recreate the many needles required or the physical and financial tolls of this serious disease, T1D for a Day seeks to deepen understanding of the many heroic steps our friends and loved ones with T1D take each day.
Please sign up for the T1D for a Day challenge now!
Text T1D4ADAY to 63566. You will receive a confirmation text that completes your registration.
 or
Click here to sign up via web. You will receive a text message with a confirmation code to complete your registration.
  • Sign up by 4 PM on October 31 to begin your T1D for a Day challenge on November 1-T1Day.
  • When you sign up by 4 PM on November 1 through 29, your T1D for a Day challenge will begin the following day.
By the end of this one-day challenge, you will have greater insight into what it means when we say that people with T1D never get a day off.
Thank you for participating in T1D for a Day!
Participation in T1D for a Day is free of charge. (Standard text messaging rates apply.)

New Office

Life has been kinda crazy lately!  I've pretty much been working three part time jobs, but all for the school district.  Well, I guess one of them can't be considered the school district.
I'm still doing the part time ROP job for the high schools, but then they asked me to sub as the assistant to the new director of technology and enrollment part time in the mornings until the hire someone (hopefully me!) and therefore have me doing both jobs at the district office now
Plus I was asked to be the campaign manager for Measure G...a bond Morgan Hill is voting for in November to get more money for the schools.  Poor Lisa...I've got her all wrapped into volunteering for it!  Plus, I am the YSA rep in my ward...which I am the only YSA in the ward on the list...and they asked me to help with the trunk or treat this year!  All this work is cramping my pool time!  ;)  So grateful to have a job(s) though!!!

Walk to Cure

Sunday was the Diabetes Walk to Cure... so we were at Great America nice and early!
It was nice and smart that they just did a walk around the park and then fed us and left us to go play at Great America the rest of the day!
 The three Diabetics plus Austin.
Thanks to anyone who donated money to the cause!

Some of the swag we picked up for Jenn
Jenn feels pretty left out that she isn't diabetic and they were giving away free blood testers, so we got her another one and decorated it for her!
And we each got a tattoo!
And then off to spend the rest of the day on the rides!
We left and then I came back with the kids for Halloween Haunt, which was pretty fun....
The kids were great and weren't too scared at all!

Visiting!

Asia has come to visit me for a little bit.  She doesn't quite get along with Emmitt.  We still haven't let her and the dog see each other.  The first night she was here, she wouldn't stay off of me and was really mad when I left her in a room by herself!
But she is starting to get back to her normal self...

Sealing

What a great day for this cute little family!  Peyton was sealed for time and all eternity to Susannah and Kevin!  When mom walked into the sealing room with Peyton, she was just beaming and so cute!  The sealer talked about how adorable she was and she giggled just at the right moment.  They let her wander around the sealing room and she just had a grand old time!  We are so glad that Peyton is eternally part of our family!
