Squirrel!

"Squirrel!" from the movie Up has a whole new meaning.  Usually when you yell "Squirrel" it means...I'm suddenly distracted...now it means "you can't fit into that!

Sunday morning the kids and I were leaving for church when suddenly my car was making a horrible noise.  The power steering went out and the battery light came on.  I parked, stole a different car and headed to church.  I'd like to say that I listened during church, but I actually was sitting on the couch trying to find out what was wrong with my car.  All search results said something was wrong with one of the belts...I just had those replaced!!  I texted my dad and he texted back saying that it sounded like it was the serpentine belt.  I decided not to focus on it until Monday.  I called dad Monday morning and he said to go look in the car and see if the belt was broken.  I opened the hood to find the squirrel!  Stupid thing!  One of the pool workers was kind enough to pull it out for me!

After a few phone calls I was able to get the car over to a shop and they replaced the belt.  Expensive squirrel.  Later that day, we found a gopher in the swimming pool!  Good thing it didn't wreck anything!

Beach!

Ashlee and I went to the beach while we were in Petaluma...we went to the beach we went to all the time while we were growing up.  Austin came with us as well as her niece and nephew.
Ashlee and I realized that we are old.  We wanted to stay warm and not go into the freezing cold water like we used to all the time!
We had lots of fun with the kids!

New Bed

As we all know, I'm quite obsessed with my bed.  I've also mentioned how comfortable my parents bed is.  My new bed is fabulous as well.  I think it is a Murray thing...we like to be really comfortable when we sleep, cuz all of the beds in this house are very comfortable!  Gotta love the pillowtop mattress!  Mmmm.  This is actually the first time in my life that I have had anything larger than a twin bed to myself!  Here are pictures of my new bed and bedroom...Lisa decorated it a while ago in the travel theme...couldn't have been more perfect!  Well...except the fact that most of it is decorated in Paris stuff and the only time I've been to France is for layovers!  I guess this just means that my first trip after I get a job is to go to Paris! Done and DONE!

Decisions

So, I kinda dropped off the face of the earth for a little bit.  I was in the middle of making some big decisions in life and was too occupied to deal with my blog.  The short story is that I decided to quit my job and move to California to be closer to family and find a job here.  I am living with my sister and her husband and it has been fabulous so far.  I'm lucky to have such wonderful and supportive family members.  I gave work three weeks notice and packed up my stuff, said goodbye and drove out the beginning of May.  Got here and then went with my parents and Jennifer to two wonderful weeks of Kauai!  Such a wonderful time...I miss the tropical paradise!  Now I am back and looking for work, so if anyone has any connections in the San Jose area, or even in the Petaluma area, feel free to pass it along!!
