Cell Phone

So, I would like to apologize to anyone who thinks I have been ignoring their texts lately.  My phone has been hating on me.  About two weeks ago my phone started to just turn off randomly.  I noticed that it would only stay on as long as the battery was at full charge.  It would even turn off when I had it charged.  So annoying.  We went to the Sprint store and they ordered me a new phone which came a few days later.  In the mean time I was using Austin's phone.  He rarely touches his phone.  We went and picked up the new phone and they took out all my cards and battery stuff and switched it over and sent us on our way.  The phone seemed to work great until I got home and it turned off.  I called the Sprint store and told them not to send off my old phone.  I went to the sprint store again and got my old phone.  I didn't want to have to re download everything on my new phone....this was much easier.  So, I still didn't have a working phone.  I looked up on the Sprint website to see how much it would cost me to buy a new battery.  45 bucks.  Then I went to Amazon.com and bought one for 7 bucks.  The battery got here today and the phone works just great now!  Thank goodness, because it, and the people at the sprint store were driving me crazy!  I'm not sure how I lived without a phone...and to be even more pathetic, without a smartphone!  Ug...I'm one of those people!  :)

That's What I Get For Doing My Own Thinking!

I thought that zits belong to teenagers.  Then in college I realized they never really go away.  This is still confirmed to be true.

Awesome.

Schuhmacher Family Miracle

A dear friend of mine's family is going through a rough time with cancer right now.  I grew up with her family, she was my Young Women's President and I've watch from afar as she has raised her own family (three out of her four boys are diabetic) with her wonderful husband, Ryan.  They have asked for as many as possible to participate in a day of prayer and fasting for Ryan Schumacher this Sunday, September 2nd.  I would like to extend the invitation to anyone who might read my blog to also participate.  You can read up on their story on facebook at:  Schuhmacher Family Miracle.

Happy Birthday To Austin

Austin turned 10 on the 23rd of this month.  He has been planning this four layer minecraft themed cake.  I don't know how it happened, but apparently I was delegated to make this happen. We tried to convince him this was crazy but his mind was made up! I figured it wouldn't be too hard for me if I delegated.  I'd make the four cakes (he decided he wanted four different cakes rather than layers) and I'd give him the fondant and have him make all the figures.  HA.  On his first figure he was complaining about how hard it was and that he was stressed out. When he saw that mine were half way ok he turned into a little director and enjoyed bossing me around!  The whole thing took about three days.  I was so tired and just slopped it all together and then let Austin place the figures on it.  It helped that all the characters in minecraft are just blocks!

Ouch!

On Saturday Lisa took the kids to a birthday party at the roller skating rink.  Apparently she was doing really well showing off her roller skating skills and then switched to roller blades.  She made it one way around and was told to go faster...yeah, well, she fell and landed on her wrist, which is now broken...her first broken bone!  She ended up in the ER.  Bob dropped me off to pick up her car and he brought her home after they set the bone.  We went to the doctor today and she is scheduled to have surgery on the 23rd.  Poor thing is in so much pain!  That doesn't keep the rest of us from making fun of her though! Hopefully it is a quick recovery!

Hunger Games!

The Hunger Games finally came out on DVD, so of course we went at midnight to go get it!
Walmart was supposed to have a Hunger Games release party...which they failed at, so we had our own party and had fun with other people waiting for the release.
I thought it was hilarious that they had a katniss doll!
We were all excited and went home to watch it.  I don't think any of us made it through.  But it was fun to do for the weekend while Josh and Zach were with us...they were quite obsessed as well!

Poor Crayola!

So, I spent Thursday night at my parent's place so that I could go early in the morning and pick up my sister's two boys, Josh and Zach.  While I was getting ready, dad kidnapped my car to put some gas in it, but accidentally backed up into a pole!  Poor dad!  He was just trying to do something nice!

Movie Time

The kids like my bed so when we watch a movie in my room, I usually don't have a spot to lay down!  But it is worth it, cuz I'm getting them into watching Gilmore Girls!  Bwahahahah!

I Have a Season Pass...Don't Judge Me!

We went to Great America again...gotta love the rides!  Well, except for this one...I don't like going on it, but the kids seemed to enjoy it...

We really didn't want to get wet!
Austin and I had some fun with the camera while we were waiting for lunch!

 Sometimes they behaved...
 Waiting in line!
All in all, a good day at Great America!

Other Roommates

Emmitt and Ella are the other roommates I have around here.  They bring me much joy.  I had forgotten how much I love having furry little animals around.  That's why I got Asia when I was in college and I've missed not having her with me the whole time!  Ella is almost two and is a toy Australian Shepherd.  Emmitt is the grandpa around here...he's about 18 or 19 years old, which is about 90 in human years...yikes!

Temple

The Oakland temple is where I received my endowment, but I haven't been back to that temple to do a session since then...about 6ish years.  It was closed for most of July, so when it opened up I headed over to do a session. The temple is huge and I totally got lost in it!  I was there early and had the chance to read the last three chapters of the Book of Mormon while waiting in the chapel.  Lots of thoughts went through my mind while at the temple.  Mostly I was thinking about the first time I went through and remembering how I felt and the people that were there with me that day.  Secondly my thoughts turned to how lucky I am.  I have a wonderful, supportive family, I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and I have a testimony of it.  I know that there is a plan for me and that everything works out for the best.  Gotta love being at the temple :)
