Not So PC

Props to Miss CALIFORNIA for having the conviction to say exactly what she believes. You could tell by the look on her face that she knew that once she said what she said, that she was getting set up for plenty of persecution after the show. On one hand, I don't think that question should have been asked, but on the other, I'm glad that it was. She did a great job telling the world how she felt. However, the judge shouldn't have asked a question that he knew he wouldn't be able to react calmly towards if it did not align with his own opinion. Honestly, what if he had asked "what is your favorite color...blue or red" and she answered red when his favorite is blue? Would he be reacting the same way he is now?

Either way, I'm a little envious that she was able to stand up for what she believes in such a cool way. Not that I want to be in a beauty pageant, but still!

It would also be nice if people didn't get so offended so easily...she is right...we live in America where we have the right to choose and a right to have our own beliefs. She clearly wasn't trying to offend anyone, but it would seem that he was trying to offend her by calling her names after the show, apologizing and then taking back the apology...

Happy Birthday K-Dawg!

Guess who is finally catching up to me in age!? Karlie is turning 26! I can't believe that we have known each other since we were 18! Karlie and I have had so many adventures together...from learning the ropes of being BYU freshmen to dealing with being unemployed while living in SoCal to her helping me start to get over my squimishness of pregnancy! Karlie was my first college roommate...aka my first roommate outside of my family. I still do many of the things she taught me about that first year...stretching the legs my pants as soon as they come out of the wash, always close the closet door before falling asleep, have all hangers in the closet hanging the correct way, etc etc etc.
Christmas in the Sunset Suite!
We went as Men In Black to our Ward Halloween activity...ended up getting in a whipping cream fight even!

Ahhh, trip to Colorado!
Just before a double date we went on...didn't work out for either one of us...

Karlie's last visit to Utah when we went to see the lights on Temple Square.

While I was on a cruise one time, we stopped in San Diego and I was able to get off and see Karlie during her lunch break!
I am so lucky to have Karlie in my life. Even though she is living in San Diego with her little family, she is always there for me when I need to vent, talk or just laugh about anything and everything. I can't wait to see her at the end of May! I love you, Karlie! Happy Birthday!

Petaluma Here I Come, Right Back Where I Started From...

So, a couple weeks ago I decided that I needed to get out of Utah. What better place to go than home for Easter?? I only told my siblings so that it could be a surprise for my parents. Susannah picked me up at the airport on Thursday evening and took me to my parents house. We walked in the door and into the family room. My parents thought that I was Jennifer at first, and then just stared at me with their mouths wide open! It was hilarious! Took them a few minutes to register and then they finally gave me a hug!

This is me with my nephew Andrew, he's just the cutest little smiley thing!
My brother, Lyle, with his daughter, Kathrynn at the annual Torrens Easter Egg Hunt.

Easter afternoon with Lyle, Andrew and dad.
Mom with Kathrynn, Michael, Susannah and Izabella.

Jenn and Chris, they were pretty funny and neither one would give up the chair!

It wouldn't be a trip home if I didn't play with my kitties! Asia and Honey...Asia got pretty jealous anytime it seemed that I was giving more attention to Honey!

My parents are so cute!

Susannah and Kevin took me out to their favorite pizza place, it was wonderful!

The day before I left, I went to see Jenn at work in the city. I accidentally got onto the Bay Bridge while I was downtown and took a little trip to Treasure Island. It was just beautiful in the city.

Dad is in charge of helping with the float for the Butter and Eggs Day parade, so I went and helped paint and trace the letters for the float.

I also spent some time leaf blowing and mowing the fields...so fun! Everything was so GREEN and BEAUTIFUL! And hanging with the family was so wonderful...I can't believe how big the kids are getting! If anyone knows of a job in Petaluma...just let me know!
